Who is behind Tera Byte Camps?
I am Zach Galant, the Camp Director. In 2004, I founded the camp, and for the past six years, I have run, taught, organized, and planned all camp activities. I graduated Greenhill School in Addison, Tx, class of 2008. I currently attend Stanford University where I am pursuing a Computer Science Degree.
My Background: My main academic interests are computer science and Chinese. I have won awards for excellence in Math, Chinese Language, and Video Production (film). I won the Upper School Technology Student of the Year award as a sophomore for my work in video game design, game modding, programming, website design, and 3D animation. I also received a California Institute of Technology award for innovation in math and science. As a senior, I was President of the Math Team. My freshman year at Stanford, I won the “Green Prize” in the Global Innovation Tournament and the Graphics Contest for making a video game for one of my computer science classes. I am currently working on a Computer Science Major with a specialty in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing.
My Interests: I enjoy watching movies as well as producing my own. I have shown my films at ISAS arts festival and in the AFI Dallas Film Festival. I am a diehard Dallas Mavericks and Cowboys fan. I played soccer for the Greenhill Varsity team and am now on The Stanford Ski Team, and I play basketball. I also write for The Stanford Flipside, a satirical newspaper that is printed weekly and updated online every day. Recently, I have made movies for the Flipside and the Ski Team, and I have just released my first iPhone app to the app store called Donut Dude Spring. You can download it here.
